Family policies
What families ask before the first day.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Keep your child home with a fever, or if they were sick in the night, and for a full day after. A teacher calls a parent when a child is unwell at school, and the office tells families if something is going around.
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher greets each child at the door from 7:45 a.m. At dismissal a teacher walks each child to the right car. Only the adults on a family's pickup list may collect a child, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break and the church's other holidays. When a storm closes the school, the office sends a message by 6:30 a.m.
Absences and late arrival
Please tell the office by 8:00 a.m. when a child will be away or late. A late child is welcomed at the door, and the teacher makes sure they have what they missed.
Leaving the program
We ask for notice in writing before a student leaves, and the office will tell you what happens to a term in progress. If you are thinking about it, talk to the principal first.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a basket in the office and go home at the end of the day. Children use school laptops only for some writing in the older grades, always in the room with a teacher.
Uniform
Children wear a school polo and navy trousers, skirt or jumper from the office's list, bought from any shop. On hot days shorts are fine; on chapel mornings we ask for the polo with a collar.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families send lunch, and the school provides water and a morning snack. Tell us about allergies at your visit; we ask privately once you enroll, and each teacher keeps the plan for the children in the room.
